Gymnastics for Everyone is primarily designed for those presently teaching or who will be teaching gymnastics, pre-school through the secondary level. It also can be utilized quite effectively in beginning college and university gymnastics classes and elementary and secondary physical education methods courses at the college and university level.

This book provides information on the three basic types of gymnasics: educational, artistic, and rhythmic. There is also a chapter describing a very helpful transition from educational gymnastic forms to the artistic forms. At the end of each chapter is a list of additional readings for thos who feel a need for more information on the topic. The final section of the book contains a list of resources for equipment, records, and supplies that are related to the field of gymnastics.

As the book was developed, every effort was made to conform to the "Developmentally Appropriate Physical Education Practices for Children" identified in the position statement of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) developed by the Council on Physical Education for Children (COPEC).
