Johnson was
a running back and linebacker for UCLA in the l940s when players
played both offense and defense. He was one of the originators
of the Hula Bowl and played in its first contest in l947. For
17 years he was Assistant Coach for UCLA. In 1976 he organized
the Japan Bowl. In 1987 he became co-coach of the Australian Kookaburas.
He has also started elementary grade level flag football leagues
in many countries. Currently, he teaches flag football at the
University of California @ Dominguez Hills and continues to conduct
clinics world wide.
This text
is designed for use in flag football programs. It provides basic
concepts of the game including offensive patterns, defensive coverages,
drills for individual skill development, diagrams for basic plays,
basic body positions for specific plays and rules for both men's
and co-ed flag football teams.
