The exercises are presented in a sequence, but may be rearranged
if so desired. No attempt is made to make this manual all inclusive.
It is expected that the student shall be mature, with a scientific
approach to the subject, and an appreciation of the basic areas
of reproduction. An understanding of histology, embryology, endocrinology,
anatomy and physiology are essential to the practical applications
of animal reproduction.
Research data are
being reported in the U.S. system and the metric system. The change
is difficult for most of us, therefore, measurements of dimensions
and capacities are given on page xiii to aid you.
Temperatures are given
in Fahrenheit and centigrade (Celsius) to acquaint you with both
systems.
It is hoped that this
manual will serve as a guide to an enjoyable learning experience
for you and perhaps stimulate some to continue for advanced degrees
in the field of physiology of reproduction.
