THE AUTHOR
Dr.
Donald F. Staffo is a professor and chairman of the Department
of Health and Physical Education at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama. In addition to being an educator for 37 years, he has
been a coach and athletic director at the high school and college
level, as well as a sports journalist. He has covered University
of Alabama basketball for the Associated Press for 20 years
and for five years was a correspondent covering the Southeastern
Conference for The Basketball Times. He is the author of
six books, 113 scholarly publications in professional journals,
a newspaper column and over 1250 articles in a variety of publications.
Don earned his B.S. degree from the SUNY at Brockport; M.A. from
western Kentucky University and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
